Shawn David Warrick, age 42, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 10, 2019 in Rio Rancho, NM. He is survived by his wife Madison, daughter Breanna, 2, and son Che, 1.
Above all, Shawn was a loving husband and devoted father. His family was the center of his universe, and he cherished most his carefree, playful moments at home.
He had a unique character and gentle bearing, and the soul of an artist. He received his degree in art and, after several years in business, found his calling as a film technician. He relished the chance to tackle the most challenging of sets that invoked his design and building skills, his problem-solving talents, and his creativity. In his free time, he enjoyed painting.
He was a consummate nerd, cherishing all opportunities to share with his children his love of all things Star Wars and Marvel Universe. He was passionate about learning new things.
He also enjoyed the art of cooking, and he often thrilled his extended family with dishes of his own design.
Shawn’s generosity with his time was a given, and he always showed up when his help was needed. He also could be counted on to suggest a better way to accomplish something.
He was born in Corrales, NM on September 10, 1976, to Ronald and Mary Warrick. He grew up in the Albuquerque area, graduating from Cibola High School (class of ’94).
A celebration of Shawn’s life is being held Saturday, March 16, at 4:00 p.m. at 11342 Lexington Avenue NE in Albuquerque. His friends are welcome.
