Sheila Mae Arce

Sheila Mae Arce (Stamp), age 81, formerly of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, passed away August 4, 2023 after a short illness.

Sheila was born on September 8, 1941 in Los Angeles, CA to Harold Yates Stamp, Jr. and Della Mae McClintock.  She was a graduate of Lakewood High School (Lakewood, CA) in 1959. She lived in Albuquerque, NM for a few years back in the early 1960s where she worked at Presbyterian Downtown Hospital as a nurse’s aide.  She moved back to New Mexico in 2005 after her retirement from the federal government.  She was active in her church, High Desert United Methodist Church (HDUMC).

She resided at Brookdale Tramway Ridge in Albuquerque for the last 4 years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her older sister Mary Estelle DuFrane and her younger sister Haroldene (Dee Dee) Martin.  She is survived by her son, Raymond A. Arce, her daughter, Cynthia M. Galvez and her grandchildren.

Sheila had a passion for animals, the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta and volunteering the HDUMC food pantry. She had a beautiful smile and a kind heart.

A celebration of life will be held in the fall for immediate family and friends
