Sharon McAnally
Sherry was born in Denver, CO, in August of 1942 to William and Maxine Williams. She spent many years in Trinidad, CO, where her dad worked at the First National Bank and her mom worked at Trinidad Junior College as a secretary. Her dad received a promotion her senior year of high school to work in Albuquerque. She was heartbroken to leave her high school in Trinidad. In May of 1960, Sherry graduated from Sandia High School in Albuquerque, NM. In December of 1960, she graduated from The Hollywood School of Beauty and Culture.
At her best friend's wedding in August of 1960, she was introduced to Bo McAnally. They were engaged before Bonnie and Forrest Teegarden had returned from their honeymoon two weeks later! Sherry and Bo were married in January of 1961. They lived for a brief period of time in Santa Fe, NM, where both of their daughters were born.
Sherry was determined to be a stay-at-home mom. In order for her to achieve her dreams, she went to TVI to learn accounting and other business classes and moved to the South Valley. This allowed her to raise toy poodles and operate a dog grooming business out of her home. When her oldest daughter announced she wanted to become a teacher, Sherry knew she needed to learn more about investing money. She also learned about horticulture through working with Mr. Raymond Bell at his greenhouse. She purchased Bell's Greenhouse and moved the location to Isleta. People came from all over the state to purchase her plants.
Sherry was the matriarch of the family. Sherry adored her grandchildren and made time to celebrate all holidays with her family. Sherry and Bo shared their love of adventure. They did many activities together with their friends and their grandchildren, like camping, square dancing, bowling, boating at Elephant Butte, and traveling all over the United States.
Sherry is survived by her daughters Pam Janes (Brad) and Janet Brannan (David); her oldest granddaughter Amanda (Kaleb); her grandson Nathan; her youngest granddaughter Kate; her great-grandchildren Alexis, Kayden, Scarlet, Autumn, and Dyllon; cousin Helene Wilcox Dewey; nieces Kim Focken, Kodi Fiddler, Karri Funkhouser, Sarah Campbell, Beccie Perkins, and Jennifer Palmer; and other great-nieces and nephews, and of course cherished lifelong friends.
Sherry was blessed to pass away peacefully in her home on October 31, 2025. She is preceded in death by her husband, Boyce McAnally; her parents, William and Maxine Williams; her brother, Richard Williams; her granddaughter, Cynthia Covington Rolfe Brown; and her grandson, William Derek Covington.
