1917-2011
Sofia "Fia Artiaga, age 94, passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2011 at her home in Los Lunas. She was a member of the San Clemente Catholic Church. Fia touched many lives with her witty humor and outgoing personality. She loved collecting pigs and going to the local casinos. Fia was also admired for her strong Catholic Faith, attending Mass every Sunday until she was unable to. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Tony Vialpando, Ben Vialpando and Floyd Vialpando, and her sister, Lola Perea. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Felix. She is survived by her sisters, Rita Grando, Linda Lopez and Helen Padilla. She is also survived by her children, Clem Artiaga and wife, Pres, Mabel Edmunds, Tony Artiaga and wife, Rhonda, Rose Sanchez and husband, Tim, Eileen Blea, and Irene Artiaga. She is also survived by 17 Grandchildren, 38 Great Grandchildren and 12 Great Great Grandchildren. The family would like to thank Sofie��?�s private Nurse, Patsy Cannons, for the loving care she provided. Special thanks to the Hospice Team at Ambercare, Pam Wink, Beth Sambrano, Sally Trujillo, Mari Montano and Christiana Chavez who took special care of Sofie as well. All services will be held at the San Clemente Catholic Church, 435 Coronado, Los Lunas, NM. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 15, 2011; A Rosary to be recited at 9:30 a.m. and Funeral Mass immediately following at 10:00 a.m. Sofia's care has been entrusted to:
