Sondra Kay Carver passed away on May 28, 2026. She was born to Frank William and Mary Gutierrez Carver on August 29, 1959, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Sondra was preceded in death by her parents, fraternal twin brother, William Michael Carver, and her beloved dog, Girl. 

She is survived by her son, Frank William Valverde, and his partner, Raquel; her granddaughter, Frankie; her stepdad Tony Zaragoza, her sister, Lisa Sparks, and her husband, Craig Sparks; and her nephews, Ethan Sparks and Eric Carver. 

A proud graduate of Cibola High School, Class of ’78, Sondra was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan and looked forward each year to the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta. She also enjoyed the music of Brooks and Dunn. 

Sondra will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and tireless work ethic until her retirement in 2024. She was known for her punctuality, always arriving 15 minutes early, so she was never late. She was a devoted and loving mother to Billy, a caring and supportive sister to Lisa, and a dedicated grandmother to Frankie. 

Sondra’s ashes will be interred at Vista Verde Memorial Park next to her brother, William Michael. Per her wishes, the family will hold a private memorial service to honor Sondra's life.
