Formerly of Sun City West, AZ; Lansing, MI; and Detroit, MI, Stan passed away at the age of 84 on October 6, 2016 in Albuquerque, NM. He was born December 25, 1931 in Detroit, MI to Stanley Louis Lingeman and Helen Francis McCauley who have both preceded him.
Stan graduated from Cass Technical High School and the University of Detroit in Detroit, MI in 1957. He later completed his Masters degree in Transportation Engineering from Michigan State University. He worked for the Michigan Department of Transportation for 35 years, and was a member of the Institute of Transportation Engineers for 40 years. Stan attended mass as the St John Student Parish for 20 years during his time in Lansing, Michigan.
He is succeeded by his children: Kathryn M Brown, of Paris, France; Mary A Taylor and husband Andy of Portland, OR, David M Lingeman, Stephen and wife Gretchen Graf of Virginia Beach, VA. Stanley has 7 grandchildren: Reid, Logan, and Devon Brown; Stephanie and Samantha Lingeman; and Alexis and Nathan Taylor.
Stanley was married in 1956 to Dolores Power, divorced in 1980, and preceded in death by his fiancé Beverly K. Whitmyer in 2000. His brother Joseph, preceded him in death in 2005. His twin brother, Donald, lives in Sierra Madre, CA.
A memorial service is being held in the chapel at La Vida Llena in Albuquerque, NM at 8:30 AM on October 10th 2016 and followed by a reception. The event is open to all interested persons.
A graveside ceremony will be held in the future at the Mt Elliott Cemetary in Detroit, MI. The grave site is located in Lot 1042 Section R of the cemetery, which is open to the public.
