In Loving Memory of Stanley Louie Martinez

March 1, 1950 – September 19, 2026

Stanley Louie Martinez, age 76, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on September 19, 2026. Stanley was born on March 1, 1950, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to Louie and Lucy Martinez.

Stanley attended Albuquerque High School and graduated in 1968. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and later served in the United States Army. His military service was an important part of his life, and he was a proud Vietnam veteran. Among his honors were the Purple Heart and Bronze Star.

Following his military service, Stanley continued a life of dedication and hard work. He retired from the United States Postal Service after 20 years of service and also retired from the U.S. Army after 24 years.

Stanley was preceded in death by his parents, Louie and Lucy Martinez, and his sons, Cipriano Garcia and Abraham Martinez.

He is survived by his wife, Georgia Martinez; his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family. Stanley was the proud grandfather of 13 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, all of whom were an important part of his life.

Stanley enjoyed watching football, dancing, cooking, listening to music, singing karaoke, and spending time with the young people in his family. He was also associated with VFW Post 401. His life was filled with service, family, music, laughter, and memories that will continue to be cherished by those who knew and loved him.

Stanley leaves behind a legacy of strength, service, and devotion to his family and country. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family, friends, fellow veterans, and all whose lives he touched.

Stanley will also be fondly remembered for the sayings and expressions that became a special part of who he was. Those who knew and loved him will forever hear his voice in familiar words like “Hoorah,” “Alo-Wishu,” “Que jodido, Te bañas” and his comforting reminder too “Maintain and be cool.” These little phrases will continue to bring smiles, laughter, and precious memories of Stanley for years to come.
