Steve Fred Archibeque

Steve Fred Archibeque, age 76, passed away on Saturday, July 15, 2023, in Albuquerque, NM.  He was born on January 23, 1947, in Albuquerque, NM. 

He was preceded in death by his daughters Denise Archibeque and Lori Archibeque, and his parents Frank and Tillie Archibeque. 

Steve is survived by his former wife, Barbara Archibeque; daughter, Angela Archibeque; son Michael Archibeque and wife Lisa; Grandchildren, Brandon and Brian Davidson;  Vanessa Jimenez and husband Cruz; Kevin Cervantes and husband Leon; Gracie, Addison and Bryce Archibeque; and great grandchildren Jazlene Jimenez, Salem Grey Davidson and Karter Cervantes.     He is also survived by his brother Edward Archibeque and wife Karen and his sister Kristine Archibeque.

Steve was a 1965 graduate of Valley High School and was a pressman for the Albuquerque Publishing Company for 32 years. 

Steve was very passionate about woodworking, and spent his free time making clocks, plaques, tables, cabinets and other items.   Steve loved working in his yard and spending time in front of his waterfall.  

He will be loved and dearly missed by those who knew him and had the pleasure of spending time with him.  He loved telling jokes, and making people laugh.  In spite of his lifelong struggles with polio and other health issues, he loved his life, enjoyed his family and loved them with his whole heart. The last few years of his life, he loved going live on Facebook with his daughter Angela to sell jewelry and was known affectionately online as Papa Bling.  

His daughter Angela would like to thank the staff at Westridge Assisted Living who took care of her father the past year and a half when she could no longer do so.   Steve loved the staff there and their love for her father will never be forgotten. 

Thank you to those that helped Angela during the last years of Steve’s life.  Your kindness, your visits to see him, your donations in their time of need will always be remembered.

Viewing and Visitation will be held on  Friday, July 21, 2023, from 10:30am to 11:30am with service to begin at 11:30 am. at Daniels Funeral Services, 3113 Carlisle Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110 with burial to follow at 1:00pm at Mount Calvary Cemetery, 1900 Edith Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87102. 

Pallbearers will be Brandon Davidson, Brian Davidson, Kevin Cervantes, Edward Archibeque, Cruz Jimenez and Joey Martinez.  Honorary pallbearers will be Anthony Motto, Gary Motto and Bobby Cordova.
