Steve Vigil passed away on October 18, 2010, He was 78. He was born in Pecos, New Mexico on September 22, 1932 to Francisco and Eloisa Vigil. Mr. Vigil served in the United States Air Force. He had spent 14 years with Kerr-McGee mines. He and his wife own and operate Grants Restaurant for the past 33 years. He was a devoted member of St. Teresa Catholic Church, serving as a lector and usher. He was a 4th degree member of Knights of Columbus Council # 3683. Mr. Vigil will best be remembered as a loving Husband, Father and Grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him. He is survived by his wife of 53 years Lillian J. Vigil. Two daughters: Donna Hardy and her husband Stephen. Stephanie Lovesee and her husband Eddie all of Grants. Two grandchildren; Alyssa Marquez and Carl Marquez and his girlfriend Vanessa Marez. Two brothers: Abie Vigil and his wife Angie, and Eppie Vigil and his wife Lupe both of Pecos, NM. His close cousin; Rose Bergen. 6 step-grandchildren and 7 step-great-grandchildren, and numerous other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; Francisco and Eloisa Vigil. His sisters; Julia V. White, Vickie Tapia, Polly Jaramillo, Ida Garcia, Rose Gallegos, and his brother; Sam Vigil. A Visitation will be held on Thursday October 21, 2010 at 6:00 PM at St. Teresa Catholic Church, and then at 7:00 PM a Rosary will be led by Antonio Trujillo. On Friday October 22, 2010 at 10:00 AM also at St. Teresa Catholic Church, a Funeral Mass will be officiated, by Father Alberto Avella. Burial will be at Grants Memorial Park with VFW Post # 3221 providing the Color Guard, and the Knights of Columbus Council # 3683 providing the Honor Guard. Pallbearers include: John Lopez, Russell Jaramillo, Frank Taddy, Robert Gallegos, Jerry Montoya, and Chris Vigil. Honorary Pallbearers include: His nieces, nephews and Knights of Columbus.
