Teruo Ted Yonemoto

YONEMOTO - Teruo Ted Yonemoto January 2, 1929-January 27, 2011.Ted Yonemoto, as he was known to his family and friends passed away January 27, 2011. Ted lived a fulfilling life that began in Phoenix, AZ. He was raised in a family of farming pioneers and innovators in AZ during the early 1930’s and then in NM in the early 1940’s. Ted graduated from Albuquerque High and UNM. He also served for a short time in the US Army. While Ted was an entrepreneur and dabbled in many ventures during his lifetime, his real passion was for training and showing German Shepherd dogs, winning the Best of Breed at the Westminster Kennel Club at Madison Square Garden. Ted enjoyed many activities including golf, fishing and bowling. He bowled weekly in a bowling league with family and friends. He also enjoyed spending time with his favorite companion, Riki, his Belgian Malinois. Ted was also elated over the birth of his first grandson, Aidan in August of 2010. Ted married his wife Machiko, who survives him in death in January of 1962. He is also survived by his two sons, Edward (Cherish) Yonemoto and William Yonemoto as well as his brother, Masami and sister, Tazue. He was preceded in death by his parents, Iwao and Tamiyo and siblings, Shizuko, Kiyoshi, and Miyuki. The family will be holding a viewing Wednesday, Feb.2, 2011 from 6-8pm at Daniels Family Funeral Services located at 7601 Wyoming. A memorial service will follow Thursday, Feb. 3, 2011 at 10am at the same location.
