Theophilus Mends, age 63, passed away on November 16, 2025, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was born on November 4, 1962, in Onitsha, Anambra State, Nigeria, to his beloved parents, Koffi Amonu Mends and Felicia Mends.

Theophilus was raised in Onitsha, where he attended Metropolitan Secondary School, graduating in June 1981. With determination and a lifelong commitment to learning, he later pursued higher education in the United States. He attended the University of New Mexico, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) in 2019—an achievement that reflected his dedication to service, compassion, and personal growth.

He was devoted to the love of his life, Chinelo Jane Nwosisi. Theophilus and Chinelo were united in marriage at Immanuel Anglican Church in Onitsha, Nigeria, and shared 17 years of marriage rooted in love, faith, and partnership. Their marriage was blessed with four sons. 

Theophilus will be remembered for his perseverance, his pride in his heritage, and his commitment to building a meaningful life grounded in education, family, and service. His memory will remain a lasting presence in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
