Theresa Mary (Lennon) Sergel

Theresa Mary (Lennon) Sergel, 69, a long-time resident of Rio Rancho, died on April 13, 2023 after multiple years of medical challenges. She is survived by her daughters Maureen Sergel and Heidi Sergel; Maureen’s partner Philippe Perea and their daughter, Lucy Sergel; sisters Jean Lennon-Eslinger, Patricia Lennon, and Mary Bayard; nephews, nieces and friends. Theresa was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Sergel.

Theresa was born in New York on October 10th, 1953 to Rita (McManus) Lennon and James Lennon. Theresa then lived in New Jersey until her move to New Mexico in 1990.

She cherished the long-term memories of her life in New Jersey to include holiday parties with close family and friends as well as trips to the Jersey Shore.

Within her early years in New Mexico, she focused on raising her daughters and building relationships with neighbors and dear friends. She then focused on employment to include a 10-year occupation with Cardinal Health where she met a number of friends and made lasting memories.

She loved time with family, trips to the casino with her daughters, arranging flowers, enjoying pasta, and watching reality TV. She was best known for her ability to make people laugh with her quick wit and east-coast attitude.

In later life, Theresa was blessed with the birth of her only grandchild, Lucy, whom she adored and spent her remaining days with.

Theresa requested that a service not be held in her honor and instead wanted people to cherish their time together and the memories made. Her daughters will be arranging a celebration of life with close family and friends at a later date in New Mexico.
