Theresa M Quintero

December 30, 1954 — February 18, 2022

Theresa M. Quintero, 67 of Rio Rancho, New Mexico passed peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, February 18th, 2022. She was born on December 30, 1954 to Jose A. and Mabel R. Velasquez in Espanola, NM. She was the fourth of seven children. She resided in New Mexico her whole life, spending most of her time in Rio Rancho and Albuquerque, New Mexico.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jose A. Velasquez, her mother, Mabel R. Velasquez, her sister, Ernestina (Tina) Ortega, her sister, Eileen Sedillo and most recently her brother, Joe G. Velasquez.

She is survived by her lifelong partner and friend, Dan Cebada, her twin daughters, Annette Quintero, Jeanette Lussier (Adrian Griego), her sons, James Quintero, Jason Quintero (Felisha Travis), her youngest daughter Andrea Cebada (Ted King), and sisters Sheila Jimenez, Dora Peña, and Mary Sanchez, and 15 loving grandchildren who will miss her dearly.

Theresa started her adult life as wife and mother and found herself as a single parent. She started working in the hospitality business working in several Chinese restaurants. Knowing this would not sustain her family, she relied on her belief in God and her determination to provide for her family, she began her career in the semiconductor business. She started with Phillips Semi-conductor and transferred to Intel Corporation where she worked for 19 years. She worked a few more years in the industry working for a few other companies before she retired in 2017.

Her retirement life gave her an opportunity to focus on her spiritual life. She became a very active member of Mesa Baptist Church where she developed her close relationship with the Lord. She attended bible studies, volunteered countless hours in several church activities. She also volunteered many hours with Meal on Wheels.  She enjoyed Christian music, but truly loved to read her bible and asking several questions about God’s word. She enjoyed camping, crafting and spending hours with her grandchildren.

Words cannot express what we are feeling, our hearts are broken, but our souls are so very happy, because of her belief in God, we are re-assured that we will see her again. One of the last scriptures we were able to share before her transition to heaven was Matthew 25:23 "Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!" We believe because of her faithfulness to her family and belief in God, she earned her wings and entrance into her eternal life in heaven. Her children would also like you to know, because of Theresa’s strength and  determination, as well as her courage to overcome so many adversities, all five of her children will carry this legacy with them and pass these traits on to their own children.

We will celebrate Theresa’s life on March 1st, 2022, at Daniels Funeral Home, 7601 Wyoming Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109.  There will be a viewing at 9:00 am.  The services will be at 10:00 am, interment will follow immediately after at Gate of Heaven, 7999 Wyoming Blvd NE, Albuquerque NM, 87109.
