Thomas A. Coyle

Thomas A. Coyle, age 90, peacefully passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2025, in Rio Rancho, New Mexico.  Born on June 27, 1934, in New Haven, Connecticut, he was the youngest of nine siblings and was raised by his loving parents, Joseph and Mary Coyle. Thomas graduated from New Haven High School, Class of 1952, and dedicated over 25 years of his life serving as a State Police Officer in Connecticut.

Throughout his life, Thomas cherished traveling, camping, writing poetry, and most importantly, spending quality time with his family. He was a devoted member of St. Thomas of Aquinas Catholic Church in Rio Rancho, NM, and a passionate supporter of St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Thomas was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Coyle; mother, Mary Langdon; and his beloved wife, Marie Coyle, whom he regarded as the love of his life; and granddaughter, Melissa Adkins.

He will be lovingly remembered by his son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Ingrid Coyle of Tacoma, WA; daughter, Theresa McKinney of Rio Rancho, NM; and son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Carol Coyle of Gig Harbor, WA. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Daniel, Denise, Miles, Michael, and Jason; great-grandchild, Savannah; along with his grand-dogs, Nova and Comet, and grand-cat, Oscarina.

A memorial service to honor Thomas will be held on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at 10:30 AM, located at 1502 Sara Rd SE, Rio Rancho, NM 87124. Inurnment will follow at 12:00 PM at Vista Verde Memorial Park, 4310 Sara Rd SE, Rio Rancho, New Mexico 87124.
