Obituary

  1. In Loving Memory of
  2. Thomas "Jacob" Flores
  3. September 24, 1979-October 28, 2026

Jacob Flores passed away on October 28, 2026, at the age of 47, in Rio Rancho, NM surrounded by his loving family.

Jacob was born on September 24, 1979, in Silver City, New Mexico. He graduated from Cibola High School in 1998 and went on to earn his bachelor's degree in business management from the University of Phoenix.

Jacob dedicated much of his professional life to education and helping others learn. For many years, he worked as a Precious Metal Clay educator, sharing his knowledge, creativity, and passion with others. He also worked as a teacher before continuing his career with the Social Security Administration, where he eventually retired. Throughout his career, Jacob found ways to share his knowledge and make a difference in the lives of others.

Jacob was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and uncle. He shared 24 wonderful years of marriage with his wife, Tanya (Tollardo) Flores. Together, they built a family and a lifetime of memories centered around love, laughter and time spent together.

He was a proud father to his three sons, Santiago Flores and his fiancée, Destiny Delgado; Isaiah Flores and his fiancée, Sabrina Montoya; and Xavier Flores. His boys were his greatest pride and joy, and so many of his happiest memories were made alongside them.

Jacob loved spending time outdoors with his family, especially camping and fishing in the beautiful Pecos Mountains. Those trips created memories that his family will carry with them forever. When his boys were younger, family movie nights were something he treasured. He made it a tradition to watch every new Star Wars and Marvel movie with them, sharing in the excitement and creating memories that would last a lifetime.

Jacob also enjoyed playing basketball and was a loyal Lakers fan. He proudly supported the Denver Broncos, always cheering on his team. Beyond his own interests, Jacob gave his time and support to his son's marching band as a volunteer prop dad, showing up and helping wherever he was needed. His involvement was another reflection of how much he loved supporting his boys and being part of their lives.

Jacob is survived by his loving wife, Tanya; his sons, Santiago and fiancée Destiny, Isaiah and fiancée Sabrina, and Xavier; his parents, Paul and Dorothy (Galindo) Flores; brother, Gabriel Flores, and partner, Sandra Suarez.

He is also survived by his nieces, Myriah Flores, her children Ember and Jeremiah Bitah; Santana Flores, her children Elias and Roxanne Romero; and Danielle Flores and her fiancée, Jhaevon Payne.

His in-laws, David and Donna (Valdez) Tollardo; his brother-in-law David Tollardo and wife, Valerie Tollardo, and their children, Robert and Victoria Tollardo; and brother-in-law Nick Tollardo and husband, Victor Torres and their son, Bobby Torres-Tollardo.

Jacob is also survived by many extended family members, band family and friends whose lives he touched.

Though his passing leaves an immeasurable void in the lives of those who loved him, his memory will live on through the stories shared, the traditions carried forward, and the countless moments that made him who he was.

The memories of fishing and camping in the mountains, cheering for his favorite teams, family movie nights, and the love he had for his family will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.

Jacob's greatest legacy is the family he loved and the memories he leaves behind. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

It's never goodbye, it's see you later, Jacob.
