In Loving Memory of Todd Jason "TJ" Wilham

Todd Jason “TJ” Wilham was called home to his Heavenly Father on July 15, 2026, at the age of 50 following a life well lived.

TJ was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Roland Edward Wilham and Marilyn Sue Wilham, who preceded him in death.

He shared 26 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Tammi Dedert Wilham. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Riley (Tabea) Wilham and Regan Elizabeth Wilham, and his son, Ryan Jason Wilham, all of Albuquerque, New Mexico. He is also survived by his brother, Edward Wilham, and sister-in-law, Sue Wilham; his brother-in-law, Eric Dedert, and sister-in-law, Anyarat Chin, of Pittsboro, North Carolina; his mother-in-law, Brenda Kintz, of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and his father-in-law, Ray Dedert, and mother-in-law, Jean Dedert, of Guyton, Georgia.

TJ graduated from Lutheran High School of Indianapolis in 1994. He earned his bachelor's degree in journalism from Butler University in 1998 and later graduated from the Northwestern School of Police Staff and Command in 2017.

Throughout his distinguished career, TJ worked for KOAT-TV for eight years, the City of Albuquerque for eight years, the Albuquerque Journal for five years, and the Duke City Soccer League for two and a half years. His dedication and excellence earned him four Emmy Awards, the International Association of Law Enforcement Planners' "Project of the Year" Award in 2013, and numerous honors from the Associated Press, the Society of Professional Journalists, the Hoosier State Press Association, and the New Mexico Press Association.

Soccer was one of TJ's greatest passions. He devoted countless hours to the sport as a coach, referee, and assignor throughout New Mexico. He was actively involved with the Duke City Soccer League and worked closely with soccer clubs across the state, mentoring players, coaches, and officials alike.

A faithful member of Christ Lutheran Church and School, TJ lived a life centered on service, integrity, and compassion. He had a larger-than-life personality and was known for mentoring others both professionally and within the soccer community. As a journalist, he earned the respect of colleagues and the public for his honest, fair reporting and his genuine care for the people behind every story. His kindness, generosity, and willingness to help others left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate TJ's life at a Celebration of Life to be held on July 26, from 3:00-6:00 at the Creative Arts Building on the campus of Expo New Mexico (State Fairgrounds). Guests are asked to enter through Gate 3 on San Pedro Drive. Additional details regarding the date and time will be shared separately.
