Toshiko McDermott

Toshiko McDermott, age 75, passed away on August 25, 2016 in Albuquerque, NM. She was born August 11, 1941 in Tosa, Japan. Toshiko is survived by her children and loved ones, Bill McDermott (Shauntell) of Lafayette, LA, Susan Oldfield (Ron) of Albuquerque, NM, and Joseph McDermott (Beth) of Albuquerque, NM; her 8 grandchildren, Matthew, Savannah, David, Andrew, Megan, Emily, Olivia, and Cameron; 1 great-grandchild, Luxy; her sisters, Keiko and Misa; and many relatives in Japan. She is preceded in death by her husband, Gerald McDermott, and her son, Richard McDermott.  

Toshiko resided in New Mexico for over 30 years. She worked many of those years at Intel as a manufacturing technician. She loved antiquing, gardening, and spending time with her family. She was a strong woman and dedicated mother, and she will be dearly missed.

The McDermott family would like to thank The Village at Alameda Assisted Living, Ambercare Hospice, and all of her caregivers for helping her feel at-home and comfortable during the last stages of her illness. A Graveside Service will be held on September 1, 2016 at 12:45 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery, 501 North Guadalupe Street, Santa Fe, NM.
