Trinidad G. Bustos II: July 30, 1951-October 8, 2011 Trinidad "Trini Bustos, age 60, was taken from our family suddenly on Saturday, October 8, and is now in the Lord?s care along with our loved ones who went before him. Trinidad is survived by his only son, Trinidad D. Bustos III, whom he loved very much; his mother, Mary A. Bustos; sisters Carol Sanchez and Theresa Ware; brothers, Tony and Charles Bustos; and numerous nieces and nephews, all of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Trini was born in Lamar, Colo. on July 30, 1951, and was raised in Los Angeles, Calif., where he grew up loving the sport of boxing and won a Golden Glove award for his weight class in 1967. He attended Lincoln high school, where he learned to play the trumpet and enjoyed jamming with his friend in his family?s basement. In 1969 he enlisted in the U.S. Army as an infantry man. He served his year of service in the jungles of Vietnam and came home to fight a life-long related personal battle. After Vietnam, he took up arts and crafts, including painting in a style so simplistic yet deep that his brother compared it to Grandma Moses? work. Trini was a generous man with a loving heart, and for this he had many friends who genuinely loved him; Trini considered them all family in some way or another. Trini sought to help those less fortunate than he was, and for that he will always be remembered. So go with God, Trini, on the wings of peace our dear Lord has given you. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Daniels Funeral Services, Wyoming Chapel. Interment will be at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Trinidad's care has been entrusted to:
