Valorie Ann Lee Lesperance, 61, passed away in Albuquerque, NM, on Saturday, April 6, 2024, after a courageous battle with kidney disease.
Born November 29, 1962, in Artesia, NM, to Dale and Rosella Lee, Valorie grew up around the Texas/New Mexico Border. Her family moved around quite a bit during her childhood, so she called many places home. They settled in Albuquerque in the 1970s, and Valorie graduated from Valley High School in 1980.
Valorie was a versatile individual, adept at various professions. She began her career as a cake decorator in a bakery and later worked in banking. Her journey led her to manage a Circle K, clean hotel rooms, sell educational textbooks for firefighters, and serve as a dishwasher, among other roles. However, it was her tenure as a 911 dispatcher at the Socorro Police Department that she found most fulfilling. Starting there and rising to the position of Assistant Director of Socorro E-911 in 2017, Valorie dedicated herself to helping others during emergencies. Her commitment to her job was unwavering, although it took an emotional toll. Valorie's retirement was bittersweet, as she cherished the connection to her community and the opportunity to aid those in need. Her absence will be deeply felt in Socorro, where she was a staple for 30 years.
Valorie is preceded in death by her beloved son, Raymond Baker; Richard Francis Baker; Michael Earl Pace; her Grandma Domie, Virginia Jones; her Granny, Bertha Lee, and Papa, Dulen Lee; and her special Aunt, Betty Pitchford.
She is survived by her husband of 18 years, Harold Lee Lesperance; her Mother, Rosella, and her Father Dale Lee; her brother, Wade Lee, and sister-in-law, Julie Lee; her niece, Jennifer Lee, and nephew, James Lee; her daughter-in-law, Samantha Childs, and son-in-law, Michael Childs, along with their children, Ricky, Colton, and Kyler; her daughter, Shelby (Pace) Lake, and son-in-law, Dannie Lake, and their children, Miles, Zachary, and Magnolia; her daughter, Crystal (Lesperance) Evans, and son-in-law, John Michael Evans III, and their children, Elizabeth, Aleyah, Isabelle, Aryelle, and John Michael Evans IV; her daughter, April Lesperance, and her grandchildren, Joslin and Mariah Baca; as well as numerous other relatives, great-grandchildren, "adopted" children, grandchildren, friends, and extended family members.
