With great sadness and deep gratitude for a life well lived, we announced the passing of Vicente Torres Jr. age 85, on August 31, 2025, at his home in Luis Lopez, New Mexico. He was surrounded with love and prayers from his family.

Vicente was born May 13, 1940, in Socorro, New Mexico, to Vicente and Anna-Maria Torres. He was a man of faith, love, and fully devoted to his family. Before retiring, he worked as a heavy equipment operator for 32 years for the Mid Rio Grande Conservancy District. He enjoyed restoring old wood stoves/ heaters but mostly enjoyed playing music. He started playing in bands since he was in High School with the "Rock'n Roll 5"and established a band known as the "Vibratones." which lasted many years. Also, appearing in 3 documentaries, with "Way Out There" being the most popular. He will be remembered by all his family and friends for his music and yearly Matanzas, which were held at his home, hence his saying "poor hogs gotta go" became his popular saying.
