Viola Armijo

May 25, 1933 — February 17, 2023

Albuquerque

Viola Armijo celebrated her Home Coming, at the age of 89, on February 17, 2023. Viola’s impactful legacy continues to live through her son, Chris Armijo, daughters, Bernadette Martinez (Steve), and Karen Quintana (Richard).

She was a Wife, Mother, Grandma, Gramma Gramma, Sister, Aunt and Friend. These are the many titles and roles she wore proudly and ever-so lovingly.

Her pride and joy were her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was known as “Gram” by Desiree Parker (Dewayne); Elizabeth Silva (Steve); Dominic Martinez (Jovonn); Vicente Martinez (Felisha); Brianna Ortega (Josh); Richard Michael Quintana (Ivanna); Brittany Armijo (Kenneth); Andrew Quintana (Taylor); Alyssa Gabrys (Forrest) as well as "Gramma-Gramma" by Marcos, Darius, Shantel, Lauryn, Isai, Esteban, Lilliana, Mattias, Lorenzo, Rose, Josiah, Sariah, Emilio, Amayah, Sky, and Asher.

May His favor be upon you for a thousand generations, and your children, and your children's children... Deut. 7:9, Psalm 103:17-18

Viola was welcomed home by her husband, Louie E Armijo Sr., her sons, Louie Armijo Jr. and Anthony Armijo, mother, Mary Thompson, sister, Marlene Perez.

She married the love of her life at the age of 17 and continued that committed love story for 65 years. She was a life-long resident of Albuquerque, NM, and a member of Calvary Chapel for more than 37 years. It was on an Easter Morning Sunrise Service when she made her life-long commitment to Jesus Christ. Her most favored roles were that of being a wife, mother, and grandmother, all of which she reigned supreme. She instilled to the women in her family, strength and fearlessness. Being known by mom was not limited to her own children but was extended to those who fell in love with her and adopted her as their own mom. Not only was she an amazing mom and grandmother, she was also a great friend, teacher, caregiver, listener and cook! The love language that made her the happiest was through her cooking. Her desire was to make everyone feel loved and welcomed, and for her, that was by bringing people together to break bread with one another.

She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future... Proverbs 31:25

It's impossible to put into words how much she will be missed, but her family and friends take complete comfort in knowing that she now resides in the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
