Rio Rancho

Virginia Mae Springer, born on August 8, 1947, in the vibrant city of New Orleans, Louisiana, gracefully journeyed from this life on June 20, 2025, in the serenity of Rio Rancho, New Mexico. Her life was a tapestry woven with threads of love, laughter, and profound resilience that touched the hearts of many.

In the gentle embrace of her community, Virginia was known for her unwavering spirit and kindness. She dedicated herself to her family and friends, serving as a beacon of compassion and understanding. Her devoted husband, the late Paul A. Springer, stood steadfastly by her side through the trials and triumphs of life until his passing, leaving behind a legacy of love that Virginia carried in her heart until her last breath.

Virginia is survived by her beloved daughter Amie Brooks and her cherished son-in-law Daniel Brooks, both of whom brought immense joy to her life. Her heart swelled with pride for her grandchildren, Shane and Hailee Brooks, whose laughter and achievements lit up her world. The bond she shared with her family was the anchor of her existence, a source of strength that propelled her through the ebbs and flows of life's journey.

Among those who mourn her departure are her brother, Wade Howat, along with his loving wife Sandra, and their daughters, Cheri Bogart and Vicki Spigener. The profound connections within this family were a testament to the enduring legacy of love and support Virginia imparted to all around her.

As we gather to honor her memory, Virginia will be remembered not only for the indelible mark she left upon her family but also for the warmth she extended to friends and neighbors alike. A Prayer Service will take place at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Rio Rancho on July 8, 2025, at 10:30 AM. The following week, she will be interred at the Santa Fe National Cemetery on July 10, 2025, at 10:00 AM, where she will rest for eternity with the love that defined her life.

Virginia Mae Springer’s journey may have concluded, yet the echoes of her laughter, the gentle wisdom she imparted, and the love she spread will forever resonate in the hearts of those she leaves behind. As we cherish her memory, let us celebrate the remarkable woman who inspired all with her warmth and generosity, forever guiding us through the gentle winds of remembrance.
