Vivian Chavez

CHAVEZ - Vivian Chavez, age 88, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, was called to Eternal Life with the Lord, Monday, January 10, 2011. He was born in Alameda and was a resident of Corrales, NM, where he was a member of San Ysidro Catholic Church and the owner and operator of the Sandia Bar till he retired in 1975. Vivian enjoyed making wine and sharing it with family and friends, and enjoyed a good cigar. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Vivian will be fondly remembered as a generous, out going man, with the spirit of a full life to share with everyone he came across. Vivian is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Lillie Chavez; his children, David Chavez and wife Sharon, Rudolph Chavez and wife Gloria, Vivien Chavez-Seals, Steve Chavez, and Michael Chavez and wife Brenda; numerous grand, great-grand, and great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Vivian will be greatly missed by his loving family and by those whose lives he touched. Visitations will be Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at San Ysidro Catholic Church in Corrales, NM, where a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10:00 a.m. also at the Church. Interment will follow at Vista Verde Memorial Park. Casket Bearers will be Patrick Perea, Ron Chavez, David Chavez, Aaron Chavez, Justin Ulibarri, and Tom Cooley. Honorary Bearers will be Breanna Chavez, Mario Ward, Rob Nuetzling, Steve Mills, and Ray Rodarte.
