Vivian Marie Lapsley, age 85, passed away on March 21st, 2010. Vivian was born to Ulla and Lelah Wardwell in Fredonia NY, on October 27th, 1924. She met and married, PFC Raymond J Bokleman, who gave his life for his country in the Burma conflict. The remainder of WWII, she did her part working for Grumman Aircraft, building wing assemblies for Avengers and Hellcats, earning her official "Rosie the Riveter" status. She and her second husband, Francis E. Lapsley adopted a son in 1962, and she became "mom". Later in life, she joined the ranks of college students half her age, and went on to pursue a nursing degree. She achieved the Deans' list numerous times at Clayton State College in Georgia. During her retirement, she found she loved to travel, and made visits to Ireland, Germany, and China, to name just a few. She enjoyed canasta, good food, and the company of good friends. She is survived by her son Michael Lapsley, daughter in law Shannon Fisher, and her sisters, Joyce Adams, Michelle Macmaster, and her countless good friends.
