Walter "Wally" Castillo

Walter (Wally) Castillo passed away on December 19, 2021, at age 50.   He was born September 25, 1971, to Johnny and Virginia (Moquino) Castiillo, in Albuquerque, NM.  He graduated from Valley High School in 1990.
He was married to the love of his life, Jessica Laycock, for 26 years. Wally was a local flooring contractor for over 30 years. His most special accomplishment in this life was being a great husband, father, uncle, and grandfather.  He enjoyed sports and spending his time playing games with his family and attending church.

Walter was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny and Virginia; his sister Lyneett Moquino and his maternal grandmother, Delores Twining.

He is survived by his wife (of 26 years) Jessica and his 3 sons, Steven, Anthony, and Elijah, as well as his grandchildren:  Harmony, Vincent, Maleah, Ariana, Anaya, Elizah Mae and Ermias; his sister, Rosa and her husband, his 3 nieces and his dog, Lowkey.

A visitation service will be held on January 10, 2022, from 5-7pm, Daniel’s Family Funeral Service - Southern Chapel, 2400 Southern Blvd SE, Rio Rancho, NM 87124. There will be an additional visitation from 9 -10 a.m. on January 11, 2022, prior to the funeral service at 10 a.m., Daniel’s Family Funeral Services – Southern Chapel. The funeral service will be officiated by Pastor Tony Ramirez.  Interment to follow at Vista Verde Memorial Park, 4310 Sara Road SE, Rio Rancho, NM 87124.  Reception will follow.

Pallbearers:  Steven Castillo, Anthony Castillo, Elijah Castillo, Joey Hernandez, Leo Laycock, Jose Leon Garza and Zack Moquino.

The Castillo family wishes to thank all their many wonderful family members and friends that have helped the family through this difficult time. They appreciate everything each of you are doing.  May God Bless you all.
