Wilhelmina “Minnie” Mary Plante of Aztec, died August 10, 2010, in Bennett, CO. She was born April 5, 1910, in Ogema, MN to Joseph and Katherine Jasken. She was the second to the youngest and the last living child of her seven sister and three brothers. On April 5, 2010, she celebrated her 100th birthday with her children, grandchildren and friends in Bennett. Wilhelmina married Archie G. Plante on April 9, 1929, in Ogema, MN. They were married for more than 67 years. They were blessed with seven children: Leroy Plante, James (Percy) Plante, Ramona O’Brien, George Plante, Katherine Davis, Otto Plante, and Stephen (Gail) Plante. They moved to Aztec in 1951. One of their jobs was operating “camps” for seismograph crews. It was about 1970, during one of these jobs in Powder Wash, CO, that she obtained not only her GED, but also her teaching certificate, where she taught in a two room school house. Minnie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters; son Leroy; and granddaughter, Danielle. Minnie is survived by her six children, 29 grandchildren, 71 great-grandchildren, and 19 great-great-grandchildren.
