William G. Fay

September 30, 1929 — July 27, 2011

William G. (Bill) Fay, 81, passed peacefully the bonds of Earth on July 27, 2011. Fiercely loyal to his family and friends, Bill grew up in old New York and New Jersey with a close knit group of lifelong pals and family that shared a love of hot rods, Boy Scout camping and World events only the Big Apple could provide. From pilot training to Atomic development, Bill was proudly in government service with the United States Air Force, AEC, ERDA and DOE for 42 years. Operating in the "secret base, the 1094th Special Reporting Unit in Albuquerque was a particular career highlight. Bill's education and work took him through nearly every state, though between Tucson, Arizona and Albuquerque, New Mexico he made his home and family. He was very proud of his family and their storied accomplishments. Bill is survived by his wife of more than 56 years, Alicia; sons, Chris and wife, Catherine Fay, and Damon Fay; daughters, Tina and husband, Jim Visscher, Diana Fay, Laura and husband Mark Lerdall; grandchildren, Michael Fay, Hannah Smith-Fay and Arianna and Marieke Visscher; sister, Carolyn Rossi; niece, Carol Yandle, and nephew, Glenn Pinto. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 2, 2011, from 4:00pm until 7:00pm at Daniels Family Funeral Services, 7601 Wyoming Blvd., NE, Albuquerque, NM 87112. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate a donation in Bill��?�s name to the Boy Scouts of America, www.scouting.org , That Others May Live Foundation, www.thatothersmaylive.org, or any animal rescue organization. Following cremation, inurnment will take place at a later date at Mount Hebron Cemetery in Upper Montclair, New Jersey.
