William Toy "Bill" Jackson, 71, of Farmington, went on to a musical heavenly reunion Sunday, October 17, 2010. He left peacefully from his home in Farmington, surrounded by his loving wife and children. Bill was born April 17, 1939, the seventh child born to Toy Edgar and Ada Mae O'Quinn Jackson, in English, W. Va.
He was an accomplished musician and singer and is remembered for his astounding abilities with and knowledge of guitars. Bill worked with ministries across the USA for many years. He was on Ray Calcote's radio program airing in Alaska and many parts of the United States and other nations. He made an album containing several of his favorite songs to the Lord that was very popular. He sang and played for many churches, leading people to the Lord through his music ministry. He spent time in Washington, DC., and Baltimore, Md., in his youth and played the guitar with several well known music stars.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Donna Jean Cartwright Jackson; his brothers, Earl, Rev. James, Rev. Ray, Samuel and Roy Jackson; and sister, Linda Jackson.
He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Gutheil Jackson; his children, Kevin (Delores) Jackson, Davis (Jill) Parks, Tracy (Lynette) Jackson, Sheri (Doug) Maple, Mistina (Daniel) Phelps, William (Toy) Jackson; 13 grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; eight sisters; and two brothers.
