William Henry Russ

William Henry Russ passed away on December 31st 2015.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 36 years, the former Jeanne Anne Goodwill. He is survived by his son, Bill and his sisters Mary of Amarillo and Jane of Denver and many beloved nieces and  nephews.  He very much missed his youngest sister, Fran, who passed away in 2003.

William was born in 1937 in Vega, Texas. He was a proud graduate of Vega High School and attended as many reunions as possible. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army and moved to Albuquerque, where he eventually met and married Jeanne, the love of his life.

He was an talented auto mechanic and that became his life’s work. He finally had a pro football team to call his own when the Dallas Cowboys joined the league. William was also a fan of the Lobos. He also enjoyed track & field, college baseball & basketball.

William was an excellent leather craftsman and many family members are proud owners of his beautiful work.  In his later years he kept busy researching his family tree and baking.  He was a wonderful son, father, brother, uncle and friend.
