Andres Gomez

February 4, 1936 — January 7, 2021

Andres Gomez was born in a little town called Motaje, near Tepic in the state of Nayarit, Mexico on February 4, 1936.  His parents were Pablo and Paula Gomez Padilla.  He leaves behind four living sisters: Dominga, Rosa, Silvia and Delia who unfortunately couldn’t make it to his memorial service due to health conditions and distance of travel.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years— Alicia Espinoza.  Together they had five children: Alicia (deceased), Alfredo, Laura, Ruth and Andres Jr. who gave them twelve grandchildren: Isely, Fred, Madeline, Amanda, Marissa, Willis, Rebecca, Susana, Andres III, Melody, Arianna and Benjamin.  He was also able to know and greatly enjoy his great grandchildren: Sophia, Lucas, Thomas, Olivia, Cecilia, Leia, Abel, Oliver and Serena— All of these being his descendants, and by the grace of God we pray they will continue to be an Heritage unto the Lord.

In 1992, Andres accepted Christ as his personal Savior and was born again  (2 Cor.5:17).  Those who knew him best— his wife and children, give testimony of the undeniable transformation that took place in his life, from being a religious man, indifferent towards the gospel, a drinker and sometimes even an abusive husband, to becoming a godly man who was faithful to his Lord and Savior, his church and family until the end of his life.  He was a genuine Christian, a man of prayer, generosity and service in the work of the Lord.  A brother in Christ who used his talents and musical abilities playing the organ in his church’s weekly services, and a faithful soul winner.  He also wrote many songs and music to several Psalms, which he sang in worship with a grateful heart.  His songs and unique way of singing and playing guitar touched and inspired many young and old from many different places and churches of like faith, but were most special to his church family. Brother Andres finished his race, kept the faith and fought the good fight. He leaves a void in our hearts, and as a Christian, a worthy example to follow.  His life is a testament to the grace of God given to those who put their faith in Jesus Christ (1 Cor.15:10).

We will miss you Brother in Christ, Father and “Grandpa”

Obituario

“Grandpa”
