Anita Ellen Austin

Anita Ellen Austin, 79, passed away on November 21, 2021.  Anita was born in Springfield, Tennessee on May 31, 1942. 

Immediately upon graduation from high school Anita left home and moved to Nashville, Tennessee to embark upon her career.  She found employment as an Operator with the Bell Telephone companies.  On May 7, 1962 Anita married Don Austin, a police officer from Albuquerque, New Mexico.  She transferred with the Bell companies to Mountain Bell Telephone and completed 30 years of employment before retiring as a Finance Manager.

Anita enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, and loving on her beautiful cat, Precious.  She will best be remembered as a loving and supportive mom and friend whom everyone could count on who was always thinking of others before herself.

Anita was preceded in death by her parents, James and Martha Satterfield; brothers J.D. and Clifford; husband, Don Austin; and grandson, Christopher Bartlett.  Anita is survived by one daughter, Dawn Piat and her husband Paul Piat of Tomball, TX; one son, Eric Austin and his wife, Jessica of Rio Rancho, NM; one grandson, Dylan Bartlett, his wife Halie and great grandson, Noah of Conroe, TX; two granddaughters, Sarah & Angel Lowe, and great grandson, Elijah Martinez and great granddaughter, Aaliyah Martinez, of Rio Rancho, NM.
