Barbara B. Spreitler

October 5, 1944 — October 24, 2020

On October 24, 2020, Barbara Spreitler, 76, departed this earth for her next big adventure. She started her journey early to enjoy her first cup of coffee in Heaven with her mom and dad before heading off to meet our Heavenly Father. What followed immediately after was surely her fitting for her wings. Everyone on earth who had the pleasure of being loved by her will miss her radiant smile, her joy for life, her love of travel, and her full-on willingness to throw her whole heart into the things and people she loved.  Her greatest joys in life were her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She swore to be the best grandmother those kids could ever have and set the bar extremely high for anyone who dared to follow.  Steven, Kristen, Robert, and Laura and often her youngest son, Vincent, set off on many adventures big and small with grandma, (a.k.a. G’ma, a.k.a. GiGi), who sometimes on purpose, but most of the time accidentally, made every moment new and exciting.  For those left behind, including her beloved siblings, Junior, Cookie, Tootsie, and Eddie, and cherished family and friends, be comforted knowing that she spent her last days on her own terms, in a space she decorated exactly to her liking, enjoying the foods she loved, warm, comfortable, painfree, and surrounded by family in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She even spent some time travelling virtually to New Zealand, Kenya, and Borneo!!  She leaves behind her husband of 29 years, Jerry Spreitler; her oldest daughter, Monica and husband Bobby; her middle daughter, Melissa and husband Robert; her eldest son and “Mama’s” boy Eddie; and youngest son Vincent, all who will miss her so deeply and profoundly that her presence will be stamped on our hearts forever driving us to be better people.  Thank you and much love to everyone who offered their help, support, and condolences. We feel the love and so did she. “Until we meet again, Sparkle and Shine!”
