Barry was born on July 17, 1950 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He grew up in the South Broadway area which was called the “Stick”. He later moved to the Kirtland Addition and it was known as the “Kirk”.
He attended Eugene Field Elementary, Lowell Elementary, Lincoln Junior High and Albuquerque High School.
Barry worked as a Patient Care Aide at the UNM Alcohol Treatment Center at old St. Joseph Hospital and downtown 5th Street NW. He also worked at Lovelace Hospital on Gibson SE in the ICU Unit.
Barry loved to play basketball.
Barry was preceded in death by his parents Lovell and Bertha Lee Foster. In-Laws Edna and Carl Hadley and George Edens. One brother and Sister-in-law, Danny and Melissa Kendall of Oklahoma; two Sisters, Sandra “Kay” Wood of Conroe, Texas, Elaine Hollins of Albuquerque, New Mexico; two Brother-in-laws, Haskell Lewis and Charles Edens.
He is survived by his Wife, Sandra of 44 years; two Daughters, Christine Smith of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Kyara Jones of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Five Grandchildren, Alexas Foster, Jonathan Smith, Maurice Smith of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Juwan Foster – Olloway, Antoine Jones of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Seven Great-Grandchildren, Amoni Brown, Ahmod Brown, Amir Foster, Azhi Foster, Jamarion Smith, KnMya Smith, Liyah Smith of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Five Brothers, Van Robinson of Big Spring, Texas, Johnny Robinson of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Larry Perea of Grants, New Mexico, David Thornton and Tony Chavez of Atlanta, Georgia.
Two brother-In-laws, Arthur and Avery Hadley of Albuquerque, New Mexico; three Sister-in-laws, Margaret Cheeks (Stanley) of Atlanta, Georgia, Edna Hadley of Los Angeles, California and Nancy Hadley of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Special Cousin, Kathy Crockett of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Special Niece, Dana Stevenson (Herman) of Edmond, Oklahoma and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and family.
