Edwardo (Eddie) Garcia, age 89, passed away peacefully in his home June 8, 2022 in Albuquerque, NM. He was born May 12, 1933 to his parents Adolfo and Maria Garcia in Polvadera, NM.
 
He married Lucy Urtiaga, October 7, 1953 in Jarales, NM and were married for 65 years.
 
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucy U. Garcia in 2018; his son, Edward (Ed) Garcia in 2020.
 
He is survived by his daughter, Teresa Garcia and partner Martin Lind of Albuquerque, NM; daughter-in-law, Pearl Garcia of Albuquerque, NM; granddaughters: Savanna Garcia Valenzuela and husband Michael Valenzuela, and Nicole Garcia Lovato; grandson, Derrick Michael Garcia; great grandchildren: Esequiel Valenzuela, Antonio Shane Lovato, Lariano Robert Lovato, and Luciano Eddie Lovato.
 
Eddie honorably serviced his country in the US Army from 1953 – 1955 and was discharged as a Corporal / (E-4).
 
He was a jokester and loved to talk about the “Good ol’ Days.” He also loved working on his yard; watching his grandson play sports; hanging out with his granddaughter and great-grandkids; and playing at the casino.
 
He was a longtime member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
 
A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 PM on July 11, 2022 at Santa Fe National Cemetery, 501 N Guadalupe St, Santa Fe, NM with Military Honors.
