Emily Maria Grzelachowski

Emily Maria Grzelachowski of Rio Rancho, New Mexico left this earth to join her Lord and Savior on Sunday June 28, 2020 at the age of 96. She passed away at home peacefully with her children at her bedside.

She was born on February 24, 1924 in Ricardo, NM to the late Faustin Casaus and Veneranda Casaus. She was the youngest of five children. Her siblings were Leonorcita Sena, Mela Casaus, Maggie Eye and Jesse Casaus. 

Emily met her husband Alexander Grzelachowski while working at the Post Office and General Store in Ricardo. They were married on January 21, 1945 in Santa Rosa. They had eight children together and were married until his passing on April 10, 1989. Emily was a devoted mother and homemaker. She loved all her children unconditionally. She was a devoted Christian who loved God with all her heart, she instilled those values in all her children, grandchildren and just about everyone she knew. She was such a beautiful soul. She was such a likeable person and because of this she had so many friends who truly loved her. She was the best example to her family of what kind of person we should be. She was our prayer warrior and we will miss her forever.

Emily was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sisters, her brother, her son Johnny Grzelachowski, daughters Irene Torres, Patsy Torres-Guidry and Grandson Chris Grzelachowski

She is survived by son Jerry Grzelachowski and wife Carmen, son Tony Grzelachowski, daughter Mary Lou Willard, daughter Angela Petty, daughter Ruby Quintana and husband Joaquin, daughter in law Becky Grzelachowski.

She will be remembered by her grandsons Stephen Sepulveda, Joe Al Torres, Anthony Torres, Joseph Torres, Tyler Willard, Robert Petty.

She will be loved by her granddaughters Lucy Torres, Melanie Sepulveda, Jessica Sepulveda, Geraldine Pearman, Jolene Estrella and Emily Epley.

She will be missed by her great grandchildren Marissa Sepulveda, Jacob Sepulveda, Mirakol Avalos, Julian Avalos, Damen Grzelachowski, Kalob Grzelachowski, Josiah Estrella, Alex Quintana, Miranda Quintana, Stephen Tomlin, Bradley Tomlin, Reyna Torres, Joe Al Torres, Jacob Torres, Kai Torres, Trystan Torres, Joey Torres and Jaxson Petty.

She will always watch over her great great grandchildren Jocelyn Tomlin, Amari Bell and Leigh Bell.

Emily will join her husband Alexander at her final resting place on Tuesday July 7th at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.

It saddens us to say that due to Covid restrictions, services are limited to immediate family only. We hope to celebrate her life at a later time when we can all safely gather.
