Forrest W. Green
Surrounded by his loving family, Forrest W. Green passed away peacefully on June 4, 2021. Forrest was born September 28, 1928 in Dallas, Texas. After his distinguished service in the United States Navy (1945-1949) Forrest began a long highly successful career in the retail furniture business working in Dallas before moving to Albuquerque in 1973 where he worked for American Furniture and was the Manager of Jackson Furniture.
He is preceded in death by his parents Robert Lee Green and Mary Carr Green, his three brothers Robert, Donald and Crawford, and a sister Mary Blanche. He is also preceded in death by his first wife Patricia Veno Green and a daughter Deborah Green Thompson.
Forrest is survived by his loving wife of thirty-two years, Patricia Ruth Green, his daughter Sandra Green Hough and stepchildren Marcia Daudistel (Howard) Frances Hatfield, Michelle Brandhorst (Crews), Michael Hatfield (Mary Kay) and Brian Hatfield. He was a grandfather to 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
An avid Dallas Cowboys fan, a lifelong golfer and world traveler, Forrest was a great conversationalist who loved meeting people from all walks of life. He was always happiest at holiday celebrations surrounded by his family and countless friends.
The family would like to express their gratitude to all the healthcare professionals who gave compassionate care to Forrest during his final months. We are especially appreciative of the entire Woodmark at Uptown staff for their support of the family and their attention to Forrest’s every need, and the Armada Hospice staff for their comforting care of him.
