Garrett Fulton Donovan

October 16, 1927 — April 30, 2022

Garrett Fulton Donovan was born October16,1927 in Hamilton, Ohio to Garrett F Donovan and Alberta Fulton Donovan. He spent most of his youth in and around the Hamilton area where he graduated from Ross County High School in 1945. Shortly after graduation he went into the U.S. Army and completed Airborne Jump School after which he was assigned to the 82nd Airborne. He remained in the U.S. Army reserve where he would reach the rank of Captain. He took advantage of the G.I. Bill to attend the University of Kentucky where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree. While at the University of Kentucky he met his future wife and in 1954 they became Mr. Garrett F. and Mrs. Alma Jean Childers Donovan. He began working for Champion International Papers and would enjoy successful career in sales which would see him and his family moving to Ohio, Kentucky, Michigan, and eventually New Mexico. Garrett would eventually retire in New Mexico, a state he truly loved, and would spend the remainder of his life there. He enjoyed the outdoors and traveling in his camper, he also was an avid reader who particularly enjoyed history and current events. He also loved witty repartee and did not suffer fools gladly.

Garrett passed peacefully from this life April 30, 2022, at the age of 94. He is preceded in Death by his parents Garrett C. and Alberta F. Donovan and his wife, Alma Jean C. Donovan.

He is survived by his Children, daughters, Debra L. Donovan of Kewadin, Michigan and Laura S. Donovan of Katy, Texas, and son's Garrett F. Donovan of Oxford, Ohio and Jonathan B. Donovan of Albuquerque, New Mexico. He is also survived by his Grandson, Austin Lincicome of Hamilton, Ohio and His Niece, Lenora A. Hunter of Birmingham, Alabama. He was Loved and will be Missed by his Family and Friends and his view on life can perhaps be summed up by one of his favorite quotes, "Never Let A Few Facts Get in The Way of a Good Story." Rest In Peace Dad.

Garrett Donovan was laid to rest next to his wife in a private ceremony at Sandia Memory Gardens in Albuquerque. Garrett had a couple of favorite charities and for those who wish to donate please do so to the following:
