Glenda R. Crowley, February 18, 1939 to December 1, 2019

Glenda Neva Webster Robinson Crowley was born February 18, 1939 in Knoxville, Tennessee, a daughter of James B. Webster and Geneva Denton Webster, a farm family that hailed from Hogskin Holler in Sevier County. In her high school years she worked hard as a musician playing the bassoon, a portrait photographer, and a dancer.

She attended the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, majoring in Home Ec. At the age of 19, she married Don Edward Robinson, now living in Forest Hill, CA. They had three children: son Evan R. Robinson and wife Susan living in Santa Cruz, CA with a daughter Adelaide and two sons David and Matthew; daughter Gayle Deborah Robinson Evans living in Gatlinburg, TN with her husband Todd; and son James Bradley Robinson and wife Melanie of Evergreen, CO, who have six children: daughter Dakota, is married to Carter Daubenspeck and lives in Sardis, MS and they have two sons, Lander and Ollie, and foster daughter Raylynn; son Ridge is married to Meghan and lives in Philadelphia, PA; son Sage is married to Sonia and lives in Littleton, CO and are expecting a son Ledger in January; daughter Aspen is married to Tommy Carpenter and lives in Jacksonville, NC, and have a daughter, Brecklin; daughter Journee is married to Christian Zimmerman and lives in Kissimmee, FL, and have a daughter, Emberlee; son River is a senior in high school in Evergreen, CO.

Glenda's first marriage lasted 14 years. After her divorce, she was with her kids for five years before meeting me. In January, 1979 we officially became Mr. and Mrs. Robert J. Crowley of Pleasant Hill, CA. I had two daughters from a previous marriage to Patricia Steele Crowley McClure: Kristina Marie Crowley and Robin Nicole Crowley. Kris has one daughter Kaitlin Marie Arriola living in Medford, OR. Kris is now living in Rio Rancho, NM with me and is teaching second grade at a Catholic school in Albuquerque, NM. Kaitlin will move down to live with us in February to go to school for Dental Hygiene. Nicole, married to Elgin Fellers live in Los Alamos, NM. Nicole and Elgin have seven children: daughter Desiree, graduated as a doctor of physical therapy, married to Jake Cassell, currently studying to be a nurse, have two daughters, Noella and Aurora and live in Albuquerque, NM; son Desmond, graduated with a bachelor’s of business administrations from UNM, lives in Los Alamos, NM; son Deion is attending graduate school at the University of Oregon for his doctorate in Physics; daughter Destiny graduated with a degree in Nutrition and lives in Albuquerque, NM; daughter Divine will graduate in August as a Nurse; daughter Demaya is a freshman at Los Alamos High School; daughter Dayja is in sixth grade at Mountain School in Los Alamos. Combining our families gave us a big happy family of seven and now has expanded to include all of these! Glenda's love for her family shone brightly and it was reflected back to her from her family. We miss her from deep down in our souls!

Glenda and I really enjoyed traveling! She had never been out of the country before we were married, and we were able to go to Europe, Hawaii, and all over the US. She loved going rock hounding with the family (places like Dismal Swamp in Idaho) and especially to Colorado (like the cabin at Gold Creek). She was an avid quilter, beader, and sewed many dresses for the kids and repaired a lot of clothing. She was part of Silver Sneakers and Thimbleweeds, her quilting group. These groups brought her much joy, laughter and friendship over the years.

Glenda had a devout belief in God and practiced that belief through her church involvement activities in the church, and in her daily life. Her love for God shined like a light and illuminated those around her. She served as a Deacon, chairman of various activities like Chatterbox, hospitality, greeters, and ushering at church. She and I loved to sit around listening to old Gospel songs, which we always played in the car when we're traveling...We had “Church On the Road”. I pray she can be our family guardian angel. God willing, we all want to be together in God's House when our time comes!
