Gloria Jean Lawrence

July 24, 1961 — July 13, 2021

On July 13th, 2021, Gloria Jean Lawrence (Pietras) of Albuquerque, New
Mexico, entered into eternal rest at the age of 59. A beloved mother and wife, Gloria
had spent the past decade courageously fighting a long illness before her passing.
Gloria will be remembered for her strength, spirit, and perseverance no matter the
difficulties that were set before her, as well as her ability to light up a room.
Gloria was born in Toledo, Ohio on July 24th, 1961 to Daniel M. Pietras, Sr. and
Dolores S. Pietras (Betley). Gloria attended Regina Coeli Catholic School in Toledo and
was always proud of her Catholic faith and Polish heritage. She comes from a large
family of six siblings and was a graduate from Whitmer High School. Gloria spent many
years working for insurance companies, including Anderson/Miller Insurance Agency,
where she was recognized for her great work ethic, attention to detail, and friendly
customer service. Gloria found great joy in her role as a devoted wife and mother. Gloria
and her husband Grant Lawrence were teenage sweethearts and married for 42 years.
Together they raised three daughters, Jessica, Elizabeth, and Katie. In 2005, the
Lawrence family left Ohio and relocated to New Mexico.
Gloria was well known for her contagious laugh, fun sense of humor, and taking
great pride in her home. The simple things in life brought Gloria happiness, and she had
an eye for beauty, especially in fashion and decor.
Gloria loved animals and the Lawrence home always had pets. She especially
loved her three dogs, Monty, Murphy, and Molly. Gloria also enjoyed gardening,
decorating, watching movies, spending time with her family, and traveling with her
husband. Gloria always celebrated and decorated for each holiday, her favorite being
Halloween. She had a special way of turning a house into home and her loving
presence in the Lawrence home will be deeply missed.
Gloria is survived by her dedicated husband Grant Lawrence and her three
daughters Jessica (Gabriel Hernandez) Lawrence, Elizabeth (Timmy) Schools, and
Katie (Alex) Langston. Also mourning her passing are her siblings Dianna (Randy)
Schoenegge, Victoria Michalak, Marlene (Rob) Herwat, Daniel (Carolyn) Pietras, Martin
(Joyce) Pietras, and Peter Pietras, and three grandchildren Fox Langston, Summer Hernandez, and Chase Schools  who will greatly miss their grandmother. Gloria was preceded in death by her loving mother
Dolores Pietras and her father Daniel Pietras.
In accordance with her wishes, there are no funeral services. However, friends
and loved ones are encouraged to contact Gloria's family with words of encouragement
and condolences. The family requests that any donations in Gloria's memory be made
to your local animal shelter.
