Haley Rae Hoover

July 31, 1988 — April 22, 2020

Haley Rae Hoover, 31 years of age, died Wednesday evening April 22, 2020. Haley was born in
Pasadena, Texas, and resided in Corrales, New Mexico. Haley is survived by her two children,
Noah, 8, and Ava, 4. Haley was a sister to Hope Makara, Clark Hoover-Hill, Beau Hill, and
Meadow Hill. Parents, Rosie and Jeff Hill, and Bart and Liz Hoover. Haley’s granny, Cruzelia
Bailey, and Ferol Hoover are her surviving grandparents.

Haley loved animals and regarded by many as an expert horse rider. She would care for all
animals and would sometimes be guilty, to a fault, of bringing stray, lost, or injured animals
home to her family’s surprise. Haley studied at the Ridgecrest Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s
Witnesses and had the goal of being baptized this year, 2020. Her favorite scripture was
Ps 84:10 “For a day in your courtyards is better than a thousand anywhere else! I choose to
stand at the threshold of the house of my God…”

Haley often quoted Whittier and the following poem can be found on her Instagram account:
“When things go wrong, as they sometimes will;
When the road you’re trudging seems all uphill;
When the funds are low and the debts are high;
And you want to smile but you have to sigh.
When all is pressing you down a bit-
Rest if you must, but don’t you quit
Success is failure turned inside out;
The silver tint on the clouds of doubt;
And you can never tell how close you are;
It may be near when it seems far.
So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit -
It’s when things go wrong that you must not quit.”
