It’s is with great sadness that we must announce the passing of JAMES L. HOLLIDAY, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, who started on his next great adventure January 7, 2020.  He fought the effects of COPD for many years, including three stints in hospices.

Jim (or Doc, as many people called him) was born in Millerton, Oklahoma, on September 13, 1942 to Andrew and Blanche Holliday.  His Texas siblings include a brother, William Franklin Holliday (now deceased) who had two children (Kittilynn and Lonnie) and two sisters, Nora Casida, who has three children (Benny, Danny and Virginia), and Shirley Gage, who has one daughter (Gail) and who is married to Bobbie Gage.

His wife of forty-nine years, Jane Holliday, came into the marriage in 1970 with two sons. Richard Elliott, who is married to Elena, now resides in Texas who has four children (Mike, Timothy (deceased), Kimberley and her son Jameson, Samuel and wife Shelby their two children Becket, and Nova).

Her younger son Michael Elliott has two daughters: Melissa (who is married to Orlando Sanchez), and Jennifer Elliott, who has one son, Christian.  Jim brought two sons into the marriage: Robert Eric, who is married to Karin.  They have a son (Simon) and a daughter (Lydia).  The other son Jamie Holliday has two children (Isaac and Samantha).

Jim joined the Air Force fresh out of high school in Hugo, Oklahoma, and served with distinction for eight and a half years, earning several awards, including Airman of the Month while serving in Japan.  He liked to talk about his tour of duty and enjoyed it a lot.

He later worked in the dental industry, repairing and maintaining dental equipment in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and Colorado, and incorporated his own company for a few years.  When his health started failing, he sold the company and worked at various other occupations until retirement.
