James Michael Stanek

Stanek, James Michael “Jimmy” “Bubba” “Pops” Sr.

Age 64, passed away Saturday, April 25, 2020 at his home in Rio Rancho, NM. He was born in Bayside, NY on March 24, 1956, to Joseph Stanek and Mary Murray.

He graduated from Sachem High School in 1975. On June 23, 1979, he married the love of his life, Patricia Anne Zalak.

James was employed by Sachem Central School District in New York for 25 years and Rio Rancho School District in New Mexico for 2 years. He was self-employed for 30 years at Landscaping by Jim Stanek in Ronkonkoma, NY. He was an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, camping, landscaping, and riding his motorcycle while listening to rock & roll. He gave back to organizations that were dear to him; St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital; Wounded Warriors; Veterans Outdoors; Feeding America; and Shriners Hospitals.

James is survived by wife, Patricia A. Stanek of Rio Rancho, NM; his son and daughter in law, James M. Stanek Jr. and Jess Stanek of Boerne, TX; his daughter, Elise Medina of Rio Rancho, NM; his son, Jeremy Medina of Rio Rancho, NM; his brother, Joseph Stanek of Ronkonkoma, NY; his sister, Tricia Cruz of Carey, NC; Uncle and Aunt, Edward and Margret Stanek of Mastic, NY; his daughter in law, Jessica Tyner of Lumberton, NC; his six grandchildren, James Stanek III; Madison and Olivia Medina; Rohn, Kyra, and Kaila Mills; and his pet, Harley.
