Jill Miller

On Sunday, February 2, 2020, Jill Miller, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away at the age of 69.  Jill was born on June 22, 1950 in Ann Arbor, MI.  She received her undergraduate degree from Michigan St University and graduate degree in special education from the University of Michigan. 

Jill moved to Albuquerque in 1976 where she worked for Peanut Butter and Jelly Therapeutic Preschool in the South Valley.  She then joined the Albuquerque Public Schools working in the early intervention special education department for over 30 years.  Jill was happily married to Bruce Miller for over 40 years and had two children and two step-children. 

Jill was a compassionate and generous woman who volunteered her time reading to Alzheimer’s patients and upon retirement teaching at a local preschool.  She loved traveling, spending time with her friends, bird watching, and most of all, spoiling her grandchildren.  Jill’s joy for life shown through in her beautiful sense of style, always wearing her trademark hats.

Jill was survived by her husband, Dr. Bruce Miller, her son Dr. Seth Miller and his wife Dr. Lindsey Miller, her daughter Tamara Lott and her husband Derrick Lott, her stepson Josh Miller and his wife Katie DeLeuw, her son in law Dr. Peter Miller, her sister Cathy Groves and her grandchildren Declan, Kiera, Aspen, and Hudson.  Jill was preceded in death by her stepdaughter Dr. Jana Miller.

A funeral service will be held on February 5th, 2020 at Strong-Thorne Mortuary at 11am.  A memorial service will be held in coming weeks.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
