Lourdes "Lou" Cordova

Lourdes (Lou) Cordova, left her earthly home to meet our Lord and Savior, Jesus, on October 9, 2020 at the age of 91.  She was born on July 2, 1929 in Santa Fe, NM.  She gave her life to the Lord in 1947 and followed him with a servant’s heart, always helping others.  She lived in New Mexico for the majority of her life. Lou was a homemaker who babysat many children from birth to school age to include a granddaughter.  Many of these children still kept in touch with her. She was a Missionary to Mexico with her husband John for many years, delivering bibles, clothing and the word of the Lord.  She was active in her church senior group, where her red chili enchiladas with beans were a hit at their monthly potlucks.  Lou’s home was always open to everyone.  She was known for her enjoyment of hosting friends and family and her love of cooking large meals for them.  Her pride and joy was her family.  She loved to share their accomplishments with everyone.

Lou married her beloved husband John Cordova on June 14, 1947 and they were married for 71 joyful years.  She is survived by her 6 children, Anita Barela, Virginia Lucero (Gil), Pat Sprabary (Larry), Shirley Garcia (Larry), Esther Rainey (Donnie), and Kenneth Cordova (Annette).  She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 14, 2020, 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm at Daniels Funeral Home, 4310 Sara Road SE, Rio Rancho, NM 87124.  Services will be held Thursday, October 15, 2020, 10:00 am at Grace Outreach Center, 2900 Southern Blvd SE, Rio Rancho, NM 87124.  Interment will follow at Vista Verde Memorial Park 4310 Sara Road S.E., Rio Rancho, NM 87124

Memorial donations may be made in Lou’s name to The Gideons International at www.gideons.org/donate in honor of her wish to help spread the gospel.
