After a long journey with Alzheimer’s disease and a short battle with COVID, Lynda Galloway Sherburn, 82, died September 13, 2021 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, surrounded by her loving family. 
Lynda was born to Leonard and Margaret Galloway on January 6, 1939 in Dallas, TX.  She was the middle of three daughters. A graduate from Woodrow Wilson High School, Lynda married John H. Sherburn (deceased) on June 2, 1957 and began her happy life as an army officer’s wife and devoted mother.  She lived overseas in Taiwan, Saudi Arabia and Germany, where she learned about different cultures and cuisines and made many life-long friends.  She also lived stateside in Texas, Maryland, Kansas, South Carolina, Virginia, and New Mexico.

Lynda enjoyed cooking/baking, quilting, and was an active member in Story League, Women’s Club and Garden Club.  She was known for her hospitality, creativity, and her kind and compassionate spirit.

Lynda is survived by her sister, Mary Catherine McBrien, of Oak Ridge, Tennessee and her three children, John Sherburn and Karen (Reid) of Royse City, TX, Suzan Sherburn and Mark (Stulberger) of Placitas, NM, and Tamara and Kirk (Gadzia) of Bernalillo, NM.  She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and grandchildren. 
Lynda will be laid to rest at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM next to her husband.  Remembrances may be directed in Lynda’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org Correspondence may be sent in care of P.O. Box 1100, Bernalillo, NM  87004.
