Marcia R. Schreiner

Marcia Schreiner, 90, an Albuquerque PE Coach of 30 years at Tomasita Elementary School, died July 8, 2021 after a struggle with Parkinsin’s / Dementia.  Marcia was born in Sault Ste. Marie, MI on August 26, 1930.  Marcia married Richard C. Schreiner (deceased) in 1951.  Marcia was a long-time member of the First Congregational Church in Albuquerque, as well as the Presbyterian Church in Sault Ste Marie, MI.

Marcia and husband Richard spent many years wintering in Brownsville, TX and summering in their cottage on Lake Superior.

Marcia was a mother to Terri Schwering (husband: Robert), Mary Schreiner - formerly Buchanan (husband:  Porter Dees), Jon Schreiner, and David Schreiner (wife: Thongson). Grandchildren: Paul and wife Tessa, Richard, Danica and Partner AJ, April, and Kyle.  Great-grandchildren:  Emma, Dale, Clark, Stephen, Nathaniel, and Isaac.

Marcia enjoyed many years of retirement learning to watercolor, wind-surf, docent at the Brownsville Gladys Porter Zoo, and clowning in town parades and parties.  She loved to travel and had many adventures, such as an African safari, cruising through the Panama Canal, Alaska and other European ports.  Marcia was known for her love of dancing and good humor.

Our thanks and gratitude to the care-givers at the Retreat Alzheimer’s Specialty Care facility and Hospice de la Luz for keeping Marcia safe and comfortable.
