Marianne Theresa Vincent

September 2, 1933 — September 14, 2020

Marianne Theresa Vincent went to her heavenly home to be with Jesus on September 14, 2020 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Marianne was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on September 2, 1933 to Mary (Burns) Davis and Alfred T. Davis, Jr.  As a child, Marianne attended the Gesu School in Philadelphia and John W. Hallahan Catholic Girls High School.  She lived with her maternal grandmother, Annie (Owens) Burns, until Annie passed away in 1945, and then she lived with her mother, stepfather James Forte, and her siblings.  After high school, she used her stenography and typing skills in the secretarial pool at TV Guide magazine and also at McCloskey and Company in Philadelphia.  She married the late Don Vincent in 1958 in Liberia, Africa, where Don was working, and the two moved to the suburb of Bensalem in 1960 where they raised their four children.  Marianne lived in Bensalem until 2012 when she moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico.  After her children were raised, Marianne worked full-time at the Woolworth’s store in Neshaminy Mall for about 15 years, retiring in 1994.  Marianne was always active in her churches and had a sincere love for God.  She was a member at Our Lady of Fatima church in Bensalem from 1960 through 1981.  She then belonged to several non-denominational churches in the area, including Faith Oasis, the Philadelphia Christian Center, and the Christian Life Center.  After moving to Albuquerque, she joined Sandia Baptist Church.  She devoted her life to caring for others as a loving stay-at-home mom, a school yard chaperone, and, as a member of the Philadelphia Christian Center, she regularly went into Philadelphia to give aid to the homeless and to help to spread the gospel of Christ.  She had a heart for intercessory prayer and had memorized many Bible verses so that she had them ready to share with others and to use in her prayer time.  She memorized at least a few verses from every book in the Bible, and she enjoyed sharing her faith and discussing aspects of the Bible with friends and family.  She loved to worship the Lord and was always ready to do what she believed that God called her to do.  She eagerly looked forward to hearing Jesus say, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Peter Vincent, and her brother, Alfred “Sonny” Davis III.  She is survived by daughters, Donna Berger (Francis) of New Orleans, LA; Denise Rittler (John) of Croydon, PA; Dorothy Martin (Steve) of Albuquerque, NM; and daughter-in-law Vera Vincent of Philadelphia, PA.  She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Daniel Berger, Joshua Martin (Evelynn Moore), Emily Barnitz (Joey), Jacob Martin, Jolene Martin, Rebekah May (Evan), Mark Berger (Amber), and Josiah Berger; her beloved sister, Maria Forte of Cherry Hill, NJ; five great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.  Memorial services will be private.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Samaritan’s Purse.  Her final resting place will be at Rosedale Memorial Park in Bensalem, Pennsylvania.
