Michael Dunn

Michael Fredrick Dunn
Age 72, passed away Monday, October 28, 2019. He was born in Gary, IN on March 12, 1947, to Archie G. Dunn and Rose Brent Dunn. He attended Edison High School and graduated in 1965. He also attended Oklahoma Christian University. He went on to work for Conoco and Pacific Garden Mission.
Michael loved to ride his bike and participated in the Hotter'n Hell Hundred. He enjoyed watching basketball which reminded him of his college days. He loved watching his grandchildren play basketball. A highlight was being able to watch his granddaughter Amaya's Senior year and being able to walk her across the court on Senior night. He was always bragging and showing off pictures of his grandchildren to his friends and co-workers. Michael moved to Albuquerque in 2017 after retiring and was so excited to purchase his dream home. Michael attended New Life Church in Southeast Chicago led by Pastor John F. Hannah. He assisted with teaching Bible class at Pacific Garden Mission and was also a counselor for homeless men there. He especially enjoyed helping out the Chicago Bulls with their annual Thanksgiving dinner for the homeless. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Archie and Rose Brent Dunn.

Michael is survived by his children; Catina Dunn, Mikol Dunn, Anthony Dunn, Erik Dunn, Rose Dunn, and Chris Dunn, brother; Tony Dunn, and grandchildren; Amaya Brown, Kamryn Defreeze, Nikyla Green, Amari Brown, Kynnedi Green, Kylen Defreeze, Kolby Gipson, Jaylin Dennis, Muriah Courange, Matthew Dunn, Madison Dunn, and Taylor Dunn. 

Services will be held on Friday, November 8, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Strong Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave SE 87106.
