Mildred Helen Perry Gower, 94, of Port Arthur, Texas, passed away on May 12th, 2019 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. 

Visitation will be 10:00am Wednesday May 22nd, 2019 at Daniels Family Funeral Home. 

Funeral services will be held 11:00am Wednesday May 22nd, 2019 at Daniels Family Funeral Home; services provided by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Burial will follow at 2:15pm Wednesday May 22nd, 2019 at Santa Fe National Cemetery.

Mildred Gower was born in Port Arthur, Texas to Allen and Agnes Perry on September 20, 1924. She married Alma "Rusty" Gower on January 11th, 1946 in the LDS Mesa temple in Arizona. She worked as a bookkeeper for the lumber industry as well as a secretary during the war-time effort. She was active throughout her life in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Often active in local homemakers clubs, Mildred was president of the Pine-Strawberry, Arizona Homemakers Club in 1981. In 1988, Mildred won the 1st Place blue ribbon in Safford, Arizona for her sugar cookies - a family favorite. Mildred favored activities such as reading and sewing and made quilts for all her grandchildren. She also collected decorative plates and salt cellars from all her travels with husband Alma. 

Mildred is preceded in death by her husband Alma Gower, daughter Jane Gower, son Bill Gower, and son Tom Gower.

Mildred is survived by her son David and his wife Carol Gower; son Jim Gower; sisters Estelle Hilton and Thelma Reeve; as well as 7 grandchildren and 13 great - grandchildren.
