Ramon Pedro Brito
September 17, 1977 – July 12, 2021

Ramon Pedro Brito was called home to be with the Lord on July 12, 2021. While his passing has brought immense sorrow to those who know and love him, may the memories of the love and laughter Ramon shared bring comfort to his family and friends, and may we celebrate the time we had with him.

Ramon was born on September 17, 1977 in Albuquerque, NM to parents Antonio R. and Jeanette M. Brito, and he proudly remained a lifelong Burqueño, attending Whittier Elementary School, Wilson Middle School, and a graduate of Highland High School. Ramon met and fell in love with his wife, Audrey, and they had a son, Ramon, Jr (RJ). He was a devoted husband and father, and his beautiful family remains his pride and joy.

There were many layers to Ramon that made him truly special. His love and devotion to his family, his work ethic as an accomplished auto body painter at Mr. B’s Paint and Body Shop, an avid Los Angeles Dodgers and Dallas Cowboys fan, and a proud member of the La Familia Car Club. On any given day you might find Ramon detailing his ‘63 Chevy Impala, preparing for a Sunday afternoon cruise. If you have ever seen a scratch golfer pull up to Arroyo del Oso golf course in a low rider, more than likely it was Ramon getting in some tee time. Or perhaps a quick ride on his ‘99 Harley Davidson Road King.

Those that were blessed to have been in Ramon’s presence will miss his perpetual smile, his giving nature, his laid-back personality and positive attitude, no matter what challenges or struggles came his way. Ramon was quick to love, and quick to forgive. Ramon had the innate ability of knowing when someone was in need and would bend over backwards to help ease their struggle and make them feel special. He always knew when someone could benefit from his genuine kindness and friendship.

As the saying goes, the candle that burns twice as bright burns half as long. Our time with Ramon feels much too short; yet we know that he remains loved here on Earth, as well as in Heaven. While he was here, he was truly our Ramon. He will continue to shine his light on his family and friends, as we continue to honor his memory every day until we are together again.

Ramon is survived by his wife Audrey and son RJ, his parents Antonio R. and Jeanette M. Brito, brother Antonio M. Brito and Alberto Garcia, sister Alicia J. and husband Shaunt’e (CJ) Pitt. Ramon will be tremendously missed by his many nephews, nieces, cousins, and his dear friends. A special thank you to Ramon’s cousin, Roberta Castillo, for donating a kidney to Ramon in January 2010, allowing Ramon the opportunity to have a wonderful quality of life and continue blessing us with his presence for many years.

The Brito family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff at Presbyterian Hospital, the Holy Ghost Catholic Church, VFW Post 401, Mr. B’s Paint and Body Shop, Daniels Family Funeral Services, and all the family and friends who have supported them during their time of grief.

Services will be held Friday, July 30, 2021, at Holy Ghost Catholic Church (833 Arizona SE). The rosary will begin at 9:30 am, followed by mass. Ramon will then take his final cruise, La Familia style, to Mount Calvary Cemetery (1900 Edith NE) where he will be laid to rest. Pallbearers will be: Jerry Candelaria, Jonathan Candelaria, Charles Duran, Bobby Ray Espinosa, Raymond Sanchez, Emory Duran and Honorary Pallbearer: John Garley. Thereafter, a reception will be held in Ramon’s honor at VFW 401 (2011 Girard SE). For COVID-19 and variant safety, the Brito family requests that all attendees please wear masks.
